How to Apply to ABM and Check Your Application Status

Seafarers who want to sail with ABM can apply online through our job portal and follow their application on the Candidate Status page. Here is how it works.

1. Prepare your documents

Have your CV and a recent photo ready to upload, together with the details of your passport, seaman book, Certificate of Competency and other certificates. The form also asks for your vaccination record and, if you hold one, your US C1/D visa.

2. Fill in the online form

Open the ABM Job Portal and choose the application form for merchant vessels (deck and engine officers, ratings, cooks and cadets) or the cruise form for hotel and deck positions on passenger ships. Check that your email address and phone number are correct so our crewing team can reach you.

3. Check your status

Recent applications from the main application form are listed on the Candidate Status page with the application number, position, year of birth and current status. To protect applicants’ privacy, names are partly hidden and full dates of birth are not shown.

4. Wait for our call

When your profile matches a vacancy, our crewing team will contact you about the next steps.
